How to Build Bigger Triceps
66Building bigger tricep muscles is essential for many sports and other activities. Whether your are a body builder, Martial artist, football player or you just want great arms, you shouldn't neglect your tricep muscles. The triceps are essential, because they help link the bicep muscle and the shoulder muscles together, if you do a lot of bicep curls, and you have reached a plateau, your triceps may be to blame. Strong triceps increase your bench press, your arm strength and your pushing power.
Step 1: Bench press
Bench press works out the chest and the triceps, it's an essential workout that shouldn't be neglected.
Step 2: Tricep Kickbacks
Bent over slightly at the waist, and bend your knees like your sitting in a chair. Your knees should not cross over your toes. With a dumbbell in each hand, starting at the side of your legs, slowly extend your arms until they are straight. Then curl them back to the start position.
Step three: Tricep Extentions
In a seated or standing position, hold a dumbbell over your head with your elbow slightly bent. Lower the weight behind your head until your arm is at a 90 degree angle. Push your arm back into the air until you are back at a start position.
Step 4: Reverse Triceps Pull down
Usually people use a machine or a resistance band for this. Grab the bar or bands from a standing position pull down in a clockwise motion like a bicep curl in reverse. Slowly return to a start position. Make sure your legs are slightly bent. This is a great exercise for the top of your forearms too.
Step 5: Fuel your body, make sure your are getting enough protein. Also, make sure you are getting enough water before, during and after a workout. You need a lot of water to build muscle.
Step 6: Rest, sleep, stretch and get bigger.
Step 7: Diversify, Arnold Schwarzenegger experimented with many different combinations when he was body building. He tried six reps of six, high weight high rep and 10x 10. If you reach a point where you are at a plateau, you need to mix it up and do something else..
